The Steelers are 6-1 (well should be 5-2, the Seahawks got royally screwed in their game. Ive never seen a team be the victim of so many bad calls. SEA deserves a ring too), The Cowgirls and another team are tied at five wins apiece, with Dallas going 5-3 and the other, BETTER team being perfect (only team with more than three appearances that has never lost a SB) at 5-0.

It might be 50 more years before my Niners win another SB, but we can always fall back on the perfect SB record.

the one SB the Steelers lost they out played the Cowboys. Bam Morris had more yards than Smith. O'Donnel had more yards than Aikman . Troy Aikman finished the game with 15 out of 23 completions for 209 yards and a touchdown . O'Donnell recorded 28 of 49 completions for 239 yards and a touchdown but 3int's.
Although his 3 interceptions were costly, O'Donnell recorded 28 of 49 completions for 239 yards and a touchdown. Morris was the top rusher of the game with 73 yards and a touchdown, and caught 3 passes for 18 yards. Smith was the Cowboys' leading rusher with 49 yards and 2 rushing touchdowns. Hastings was the top receiver of the game with 10 receptions for 98 yards, and returned 2 punts for 18 yards. Mills caught 8 passes for 78 yards and gained 79 yards on 4 kickoff returns, giving him 157 total yards. Irvin was Dallas' top receiver with 5 catches for 76 yards. Novacek caught 5 passes for 50 yards and a touchdown.
Larry Brown made his payday that game and then you never heard from him again. CANT TURN THE BALL OVER TO A GREAT TEAM. I don't know, they said the WR missed the hot read and that is why those 2 int's happned. maybe. maybe not. It was a good game though. the first competitive SB that we had had in years. The NFC was just doing what ever they wanted to do the the AFC there for a good while.

Yeah, the Seahawks SB win had some bad calls in it for sure, I'll admit that

1981, 84, 88, 89, 94.

81 beat the Bengals, 84 beat the Dolphins, 88 beat the Bengals again on the Drive, 89 beat the Broncos in the most lopsided SB ever (55-10), then 94 was Steve Young's win over SD.

There mighta been another win in 83 if not for a horrible PI call on SF in the NFC CG against Washington, which the Niners lost on a late FG 24-21.

Most people do forget about the 84 team winning the Super Bowl, even tho they defeated Miami and it was Dan Marino's only trip to the Super Bowl.

The regular season saw Marino break a bunch of records, I know he set the record for completions and became the only QB to pass for over 5,000 yards in a season in his second year in the league. He also set the record for TD passes with 48 (I think, if im wrong please correct me).
And the Miami OL was GREAT, it had a HOFer in Dwight Stephenson and a big time player in Ed Newman. I remember reading that before the Super Bowl, Marino had not been sacked in the playoffs.
The Fins were either 14-2 or 13-3 and led the NFL in points and yardage.

The Niners D was spectacular, but the offense was out of this world.
Montana had over 3000 yards, Roger Craig had like 700 rushing and receiving yards, Wendell Tyler set the team rushing record (that stood for like 20 years) with over 1,200 yards. Had Freddie Solomon and Dwight Clark as receiving threats with a dominant OL, which had Randy Cross I know for sure.
The Niners became the first team to win 15 games in the 16 game regular season, going 15-1.
The Niners D was awesome too, leading the NFL in points allowed. That D had Ronnie Lott, Eric Wright, Carlton Williamson and Dwight Hicks at DB, which was one of the best secondaries of all time. This was before Haley and Norton, but they had a nasty LB named Keena Turner and a beast rushing the passer, Dwayne Board.

Both teams cruised thru the playoffs; Miami rolled SEA by 3 TDs and Pitt by 17 points, while the Niners had only allowed 10 points in two games, beating the Giants by 11 and shutting out the great Bears 23-0. The teams met with a combined record of 33-3, the best ever between two SB teams (Niners at 17-1 and Miami at 16-2).

In the Super Bowl, the Dolphins scored first, a FG to take a 3-0 lead. But the lead didnt last long as the Niners scored a TD on the next possession to take a 7-3 lead. The Dolphins answered back, scoring a TD right before the end of the half to take a 10-7 lead at end of first Q. It was the last TD the Fins would score.
The second saw the Niners go to a dime for the rest of the game and it really shut down Danny Boy. Miami didnt do much after that, and the Niners scored on a TD pass to take a 14-10 lead and never looked back. The Niners then scored two consecutive TDs to take a 28-10 lead. The Fins scored again with two FGs before the half to cut it to 28-16, but the game was over. The Fins and the great Marino had no answer for the Niners dime defense.

The second half was ALL San Fran, with the 49ers outscoring MIA 10-0 in the second half and cruising to an easy 38-16 win.

Sorry for the history lesson, but I LOVE LOVE this Super Bowl. People always talk about how great Dan Marino was, how he was the best QB ever, how he was dominant and was able to handle anything, well thats not true. Joe Montana outplayed him 10x and the Niners D just stifled him after the half.
That was the best team Marino ever had too, it was a VERY good MIA team. The Marks (Duper and Clayton) plus the great offensive line and a good D.
But Marino did nothing.

Joe Montana:
24/35, 335 yards, 3 TD 0 INT, 127.2 QB rating
5 rushes for 55 yards, 1 TD (4 total TD)

Dan Marino:
29/50, 318 yards, 1 TD, 2 INT, 66.9 QB rating

Whenever people try to tell me that Marino was better than Montana, I give them that stat line

I also point out that in one Super Bowl appearance, Dan Marino threw 2x as many INTs as Montana threw in FOUR!
(Marino-2 INTs in XIX; Montana had 0 ZERO INTs in four appearances)

lol if you really think the Steelers have been the victims of bad calls this season you are NUTS!!

They got three calls against BAL that were absolutely terrible, including the horsesh1t terrible, wrong call that took off the BAL punt return TD.

Pittsburgh gets more calls than any other team in teh NFL.
